Kelly Wanser is the Executive Director of SilverLining, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure Earth system. In that capacity, she leads the organization's efforts to advance scientific research, effective policy, and international cooperation on possibilities for rapidly responding to Earth system changes. She has contributed to the development of US legislation, reviewed reports for leading organizations such as the IPCC, NSTC, and NOAA, and established a program and fund for research on atmospheric Earth system responses. She recently served as a consultant for the U.S. Department of State.

Prior to founding SilverLining, Wanser co-founded—and currently serves as Senior Advisor to—the University of Washington Marine Cloud Brightening Project, an effort to research and understand the effects of particles on clouds and the Earth system. She was previously a Board Member of Dendra Systems, a company that uses technology to restore natural ecosystems. She was also an advisor to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory on industry strategy for fusion energy and a member of the President's Circle of the National Academy of Sciences.

Prior to that, Wanser worked in the technology sector, founding companies in IT infrastructure, security, and networking. Early in her career she served as a corporate strategy consultant in London and taught Economics and Philosophy at St. John’s College in Belize City. She holds degrees in economics and philosophy from Boston College and the University of Oxford.
